Well, that was a fun week.

Hello again from the great white north.

Minnesota's shitty winter weather finally decided to rear it's face, and the bullshit is in full effect.  It's cold, it's icy, and it's snowing like a motherfucker.  Aaaah, good old winter.  ...Wait, no.  Screw this. I want the fifty degree weather again.  I want it to not take me fifty minutes to get to work.

Comic is up and posted, and we are heading out Thursday for Ohayocon.  We won't be making it into Columbus until Friday for the con, but it'll be nice to see some of our friends out there.  And any excuse I get to start fires and bullshit with Nobaku is always good.

Alright, off to work.  Pray I don't die.

SOPA: go home!
Written by Shannon Townsend

You may notice a distinct lack of actual comic this week.  I've been busy, but here's the real story: We are taking a stand this week against SOPA.

On Wednesday of this week, don't be surprised if you go to a lot of websites and they are down.  Many sites, including hopefully ours if we can get the proper assistance, will be going black to tell these awful bits of legislature to stick it where the sun doesn't shine.  We are unplugging our router and not using the internet.  We won't be on FB, twitter, or any other site.  Sure we are a tiny website that won't mean much, but it adds up.  Friends like Jamie Hatton are going to take their sites down this week as well, so we are not alone.

That's about it, kids.  New comic will be up in time for Monday of next week.

See you on the flip side.

Comic is now posted! Also, a very long, very interesting...very sad week.

The comic, as you can see, is now up.  :) Thanks for being patient, my lovelies.  I just couldn't muster up the strength yesterday to do anything short of sleep after I got home.  I've spent the better part of the last few days doing nothing but cleaning, scrubbing, painting, and otherwise trying to open a brand new dance studio in Minneapolis. For the record, the place is called Smiling Lune and we are having a free open house this Sunday. If you are in the area and would like to sample some free classes, meet the instructors, and have a great time, we will be open at 12 noon.  You can find us on Facebook under Smiling Lune!

It's been a long, difficult week in the anime industry, one that has actually seen battle lines drawn in the sand, so to speak and has resulted in the loss of some friends, etc.  For the record, if you missed the story, there was some sad news about Bandai entertainment.  As many of you know, we have some great friends in the industry that are directors, voice actors, etc., friends that we have seen lose jobs due to the issues.  While I don't want a crapload of argument here on the site, I will say this.  Fans can support the industry and do their part most easily by participating in legal means of obtaining their material.  Sites like Crunchyroll and Hulu, as well as our favorite spot Netflix, all offer great inexpensive, and FREE, means of obtaining anime. PLEASE do your part and help support the industry.

Also as an FYI, we will be at Ohayocon at the end of this month as featured artists!  We're looking forward to the roast of our good buddy Emily DeJesus as well. Bwahahaha!

Now, I'm going to go watch Chobits and do a bit of laundry.

Have a great week!

Hi all!

Not to fret, the comic is coming.  I'm one week from opening the new dance studio that I am co-operating and instructing at, and I've been there all day scrubbing and painting and basically making a complete mess of myself.  It will be up Monday evening at the latest, so no worries. :)

HUZZAH! Happy New Year!

Well it took some doing, but we managed to get the system back up and running and replace the busted equipment!  Jesus that took forever.  Thanks for sticking with us.  As posted previously, we had a major electrical problem in our previous apartment, and the outlet that my entire workstation was plugged into blew a bunch of shit up.  Mercifully we moved into a bigger place, we have a fully functioning studio again, and we are back on track. WOOT!  That was a long hiatus.  While I can't say I didn't enjoy the small bit of downtime it gave me (come on, I'm only human), it felt good to get back to business on ONY, especially since we are drawing very close to the halfway point on the FoTO story arc.  Can you believe that?  Almost half done.

There's been plenty of other stuff going on as well.  Richard had a very frightening dental infection that literally almost killed him.  While we are getting things treated, it is not a cheap or fast process, so he will be undergoing lots of visits over the next few months.  I need to get in there as well, as I have one that needs to be pulled and wisdom tooth that needs to come out.  Sigh...I miss being young and never having these issues.  Yay for age being a bitch.

Kim and Rich have been hard at work putting together another webcomic that will launch later this year called Dirty Rice.  I will be continuing OnY with Rich until this arc is done, and then we begin work on our new comic project, among other things.  There is so much going on.

I also have begun the process of opening a new dance studio in the Minneapolis area with Smiling Lune, the dance group that I am the Assistant Director for.  We have a set date of January 15th to open, so you can imagine that we are going a little nutty.  I'll be teaching a Belly Theatricality class on Friday nights, which is an all level belly dance class with a fun theatrical flare.  It'll be a blast, trust me.  If you're interested, hit me up at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What else?  Oh yeah.  Cons for 2012!  We're still waiting for some press releases and for more invites to come in. We are hoping to get to Ohayocon, and we are confirmed for Anime Detour, our favorite home town con!  Speaking of which, if you haven't pre-regged for Detour yet, you might want to get on it ASAP.  I'll also be at the Oasis room at Convergence, dancing, probably MCing, and having a blast with you lovely folks.  We have at least four other cons for the year, including a tentative plan to get to C2E2, so we shall see where it takes us.

2011 was a year of severe ups and downs, and while most folks I know are very blah about it, I am kind of sad to see 2011 go.  It wasn't easy, but then again, what is?  If all journeys were easy, life would be boring as hell.

So, to you and yours, Happy New Year!  Never give up, never take things lying down, and ALWAYS appreciate what you have.  Even if you have to demand to see life's manager.

Kale, this is for you.

Love,

Shannon
