I had a little snaffu with TWC, but it's fixed.  I promised folks Nobaki would be starting up again, and here you go.

<--- click that, vote, and get the continuing story of Nobaki.  Also, I should warn you, we'll probably have a mini comic of this weird crap before the end of the year. ;) Enjoy.

Comic updated, convention run complete.

Sorry for the wait, y'all.  We had a scripting snaffu and finally got through it, so there IS a new comic today!  If you click on the TWC button, there will be a new episode of Nobaki up today as well at some point. =)  Yay for progress.  I'm having way too much fun with this story line.  I'm about the biggest Phantom dork on the planet, so it's been fun parodying such a well known story.

I want to say thank you also to all the fine folks who came to say hello at Anime Detroit, Sogencon, and Anime Iowa!  We've got a few weeks till the Durand Fantasy Expo, and then Sugoicon and Nebraskon will be our last shows of the year.  It's been crazy, and we're already confirmed for 3 shows for 2011 with more in the works, so as soon as those conventions make their announcements for the year, we'll let you in the loop.  Till then, enjoy the last of summer and stay cool, folks.

Love,

Shannon

Live Action winner!

Congratulations to our O-n-Y Live Action winner for 2010, Alan Wigness! Alan won last year as well, kicking ass and taking names and stomping all over your mom's face.  Check out his winning comic today, and bask in it's glory for the next week while Drazz and I work on more of Fanboy.  Alan has his own kick ass comic you can find here, so go read it.  We also want to thank everyone for turning in a comic! It isn't easy to do, and even seasoned writers had a tough time with this one.  I will say I don't know that we are going to do the contest again. I sort of think it's run it's course.  We're all about a little fun and games, but good lord guys, some of those entries were the kind of shit your parents would disown you over for being hateful.  There's funny and then there's just blatant idiocy, and unfortunately the blatant idiocy was tainting everyone's fun.  Sometimes a convention panel is like a dog; trustworthy and fun and awesome, until it gets so old that people just treat it like bad news as it gets old and sick and suffers, and it's safer to put it down before it suffers more.  So I think this may be the last live action.  We'll come up with something else stellar for next year. =)

I also want to thank the folks of AnimeIowa for such an awesome con again this year!  Sogen and Iowa were SO much fun this year.  We will also be at Anime Detroit next weekend partyin it up with our buddies Greg and Carrli, and at the Durand Fantasy Expo  sponsored by our buddies at Gamer's Sanctuary in a few weeks time.  Wheeeeeee for more con-age.  After that we just have Sugoi and Nebraskon for the rest of the year, so we are in the home stretch!  Which is a good thing, because I'm suffering mild con-plague and my house is a mess.  I will actually be cleaning today because it NEEDS it.

I leave you with this. Happy Friday, bitches!

Iowa Bound and LIVE ACTION rules for 2010!

Hi guys!

Okay we are leaving for AnimeIowa bright and early tomorrow morning, so I wanted to post the rules for Otaku -no- Yen: Live Action!   Below are the rules for 2010's contest, and the comic will be up tomorrow for review.  When we get back Monday, the winning comic will be posted!

GOOD LUCK!

1. You fill out the word bubbles with what YOU think the characters should be saying.  Saturday night
at 10:00 pm in Programming room 4, you come and watch us act each comic out LIVE ACTION
style. We do not read them in advance, so it is always hilarious!  The top 3 comics are voted on
by the audience.  Winners will get nifty prizes, and a chance to appear in the O-n-Y webcomic!

2.  YOU MUST BE AT THE CON TO PARTICIPATE!  Sorry, it is too complicated to take entries from
people that are not at the con.

3.  Dialogue must be able to fit in the word bubbles. This aint war and peace, people. Keep it simple.

4.  NO yaoi, yuri, or shota etc. jokes. They have been done to death and they really aren’t funny.

5.  Swearing is fine, just keep it to a minimum and try not to use the F-bomb if you can.

6.  Idiotic 4-chan jokes or comics with no point other than to use a dirty word will be instantly
disqualified.  Creativity goes a loooong way.  Memes are fine, just don’t do it in a lame fashion.

If you haven’t READ Otaku -no- Yen yet, don’t worry!  Just wing it.  And it’s the perfect time for you to
start.  You can check us out online at www.otakunoyen.com!!!
